Silent in the
Morning Performance Notes: All of the 16th note patterns need to be played with the right touch. In the intro, for example, you can't just hold down the notes and let them all ring out...it doesn't sound right. They have to be a little closer to a staccato feel. In order to do this, I find that you have to "roll" your finger pressure on the fretboard so that you don't really have more than one note down at a time. So, even though your hand is in a stationary spot on the neck of the guitar, there is constant movement as you change the pressure. Play around with it and hopefully you'll see what I mean. For the chorus, toward the end, I had some trouble figuring out exactly what to play. In the studio recording of the song, Trey continues the 16th note patterns into the chorus, and it is hard to decipher, and even harder to play while singing. But I noticed that in the few live versions I had that Trey goes to a simpler part during the chorus (thank god), and in fact just plays the chords much of the time. Unfortunately, he played it differently on each of the 3 or 4 live versions I have recordings of. So, in order to come up with my part, I kind of extrapolated a part from those few different versions, and that's what I included here.
